This year's theme

FLASHBACK 1983!

It's going to be totally radical, dude! We're going back 30 years to when it all started – back to 1983! The Police were at #1, Madonna was bodacious and shoulder pads were on EVERYTHING. So, put on your stonewashed jeans, leg warmers and lace gloves because we'll be throwing some '80's trivia your way, sharing old school photos on Facebook and much, much more!

We also suggest you register now because clever 80's team names are definitely going fast. ("Material Girls", "Karma Chameleons", "Zombie Michael Jacksons"... Just sayin'.) So, register now to start (or join) a team and make it totally gnarly!

History

30 years of Bowl for Kids

Trudy’s Bowl for Kids (BFK) is one of the largest annual fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) and it’s all thanks to our friends! BFK is an annual bowl-a-thon where participants fundraise and then come enjoy a themed bowling party. Because of BFK, more Bigs and Littles can be paired up, more friendships can be gained, and we can start something in our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America began the BFK fundraiser in the early 1980s, with several of the 350 nationwide agencies participating. Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas launched its first event in 1983 – that’s 30 years ago! We began with one bowling center, two bowling sessions and team members that consisted mainly of BBBS volunteers.

Today, the event spans an entire weekend and includes nearly 1,000 participants, with most of them forming teams through their company or organization. And yes, “Bigs”, along with their “Littles” still help us Bowl for Kids. Learn how you can get involved:
